Hello and Welcome...

I'm glad you're here. My name is Pamela Thorson and 'Til Dawn Comes is the blog of SongintheNight.net. I'm a wife, mom, caregiver, nurse, author, and speaker.

In 1997, our middle son suffered a spinal cord injury. SONG in the NIGHT is the narrative of the events surrounding his injury, our lives since, and God's work of grace through suffering.

I will remember my song in the night. Psalm 77:6

I will remember my song in the night. Psalm 77:6
If you've been to our Song in the Night website or read my book by the same name, you have seen this image of a burned tree. In case you're wondering...

It's actually the view from my kitchen window. This tree used to be a large, living pine tree that sat on the crest of a hill overlooking the river next to our home. Then one night, we had a horrific thunderstorm. The clouds rumbled heavily above us as lightning split the darkness in a fearsome display of power.

The next morning, the tree looked like this. It has become a bit of a mascot to us over the years, and especially since our son's spinal cord injury fifteen years ago.

We've decided that the tree is like us, or maybe we're like the tree. At any rate, we know what it's like to be struck, charred, and split to the core.

Once we, too, grew and flourished in the sun. Now we live as stark testimony to God's fierce power and greater grace: broken and scarred, but miraculously...

still standing.

Christian Gifts Of Faith

Did You Know?

Nationwide today, there are more than sixty-five million caregivers of aging or disabled family members. These people often work long hours without respite, give up jobs outside the home, and deal daily with the extra financial and emotional costs of caring for their loved ones. It has been estimated that caregivers sacrifice ten years of their lifespan due to the physical strain of caregiving.

They do it for love. Remember to pray for the families of the disabled and aged, and hug a caregiver today.

    We Need You!

Your prayers for us are much appreciated as we continue to seek God in this ministry. We want each step to be at His direction. We don't have time, money, or strength to waste on anything that is not of Him. We definitely need to know His will. Thanks!
